29 Burning the Old Maps
Jesus does not use the old maps.
He never has.
Human maps say:
- Go to church
- Attend weekly
- Find a ministry
- Plug into a program
- Follow the schedule
- Climb the leadership ladder
- Stay within the boundaries
- Don’t make waves
- Respect the hierarchy
Jesus says:
- Follow Me
- Lose your life
- Take up your cross
- Walk in the Light
- Love daily
- Confront sin
- Forgive radically
- Live as priests
- Hear My voice
- Go anywhere
- Fear nothing
- Yield completely
These two maps CANNOT coexist. Try it sometime in the System. You’ll last about five minutes unless God does a Ninevah-level miracle, from the “king” all the way down. And of course, God might do that.
But generally speaking, the two maps cannot coexist. One must burn.
The old maps lead to:
- pseudo-safety
- stagnation
- shallow roots
- fear
- hypocrisy
- boredom
- learned hopelessness
- spiritual death
The new map—the Kingdom map—leads to:
- spiritual power
- deep transformation
- purpose
- new purity
- brotherhood
- courage
- clarity
- Zoe-life
God told Abraham:
“Leave your country, your people, and your father’s household.”
Burn the old map.
Jesus said to the Twelve:
“Follow Me.”
Burn the old map.
If you want the Ecosystem—the map must burn.
